MSAC is supporting Shiny Side Up 2020. MSAC members will attend both the Bike Fest and the Talk Series events. MSAC will also encourage helmet checks at the Bike Fest events.
A new Australian safety rating for motorcycle helmets has been released to accompany the MotoCAP gear safety rating.
MSAC and ACC have already endorsed MotoCAP which tests the quality of motorcycle gear in Australasian conditions. CRASH offers motorcyclists a similar check for helmet quality.
Motorcycle Awareness Month starts in September and signals the start of the riding season. MSAC is working to make this a regular on the road safety campaign calendar, and this year promises to be bigger and better than ever.

The government is proposing a law change to make ABS compulsory for motorcycles entering the fleet. The new rule will apply to motorcycles over 125cc. MSAC is supportive of the change which was recommended to government following our 2018 Motorcycle Safety Summit. ABS is a proven technology which will helps save lives.
